Airport Receives GA-DOT Grant for Rehabilitation of Runway 2/20
The GA-DOT has offered a grant to the Athens - Ben Epps Airport for the rehabilitation of runway 2/20. The project will crack seal, mark and rejuvenate the asphalt extending its life another 7-10 years. It has been over 10 years since the last crack sealing project and over 20 years since any type of rejuvenation to the asphalt. The GA-DOT will fund 75% of the project and the airport the remaining 25% plus engineering costs. Total project is estimated to be $170,000.00. Airport Projects Update - Check NOTAMS before flying.
![]() The Athens Flight Center Welcomes Conoco/Phillips - The airport has just issued a new fuel services contract to Conoco/Phillips. Soon the AFC will be notifying every one of the change over date and procedures to receive a new fuel card. Phillips 66 has an excellent aviation services department and we look forward to working with them and making this transition as smooth as possible for our customers. |
